Animator Atsuya Uki has just announced on his blog that production on Cencoroll 2 has just been green-lit.
The first Cencoroll film was released in 2009 and was written, directed, animated, and designed by Atsuya Uki himself — no small feat. The end result was a very fun short film that had some great ideas in it and begged for, at the very least, another film sequel.
Really, I think that this would make a superb television series as well. Either way, the idea of a sequel expanding upon the story is a very exciting prospect.
