It’s nearly spring, and that means that there is a whole new season of anime programming to distract ourselves with. Below I’ve included a few promotional videos for the shows that I’ll at least be checking out next month.
First up is the series ‘Heroman’ which is pictured above. ‘Heroman’ is a collaboration between Studio Bones (Full Metal Alchemist, Ouran High School Host Club, Eureka Seven) and Stan Lee (uhh…Marvel Comics). The show doesn’t try to pretend that its anything more than a powered-up saturday morning cartoon, but sometimes, that’s totally ok. The recently released trailer is below.
Next up is the samurai period drama ‘House of Five Leaves’ which is being animated by Manglobe (Samurai Champloo, Michiko and Hatchin) this looks awesome.
Next video is a repost of the trailer for theupcoming Masaaki Yuasa series ‘Yojo-han Shinwa Takei’, but I didn’t feel right leaving it out of this list.
Then we have the anime version of ‘Iron Man’. This will be followed by a strange-looking Wolverine anime and then two more unannounced anime adaptations of Marvel characters. Hopefully this includes and awesome Spider-Man anime.
Next we have the second show that is part of TV Tokyo’s ‘Power of Anime’ project (the first being Sora no Woto) this show is called ‘Senko no Night Raid’. This has possibility, but I’m not holding my breath for it.
Finally, we have season 2 of ‘K-ON!’ which will be my guilty pleasure until summer rolls around. Sadly, there’s no trailer for that yet. The spring anime season starts with the April 1st broadcast of ‘Heroman’!
