Series 5 of Doctor Who is over but to help ease the pain of not having Matt Smith and Karen Gillan grace your television screen, we now have Sherlock.
Current Doctor Who head writer and executive producer Steven Moffat as well as fellow Doctor Who scribe Mark Gatiss have come together to give us a modern interpretation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective. Sherlock Holmes is played by Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman is Watson.
This new series is comprised of three 90-minute episodes; two of which have already aired in England to rave reviews and excellent ratings. The final episode is set to air in Great Britain this weekend.
At the moment the only way to see this series if you aren’t in England is by digging through the internet and finding them online if you are quite impatient but to those who can wait, the series will be airing on PBS as part of their Masterpiece Theater lineup starting on October 24th. The BBC One trailer for Sherlock is included below and it stands as just another example of how much better British television can be from our own.
Meanwhile, Doctor Who is currently filming right now and will return this Christmas.
