The Champions used their combined powers to bring you a powerful review of Netflix and Dreamworks’ re-imagining of the Voltron franchise. In a slightly different move for the Champions, this is a review of the entire first season of Voltron: Legendary Defender rather than of just the first five episodes. Is Netflix’s new Voltron a hot-blooded triumph of mech action? Or is it a pale imitation of the legendary shows that inspired it? Listen and find out!

The Champions take some time out this week to visit the countryside and run across a village under attack from some creepy (hot?) ghost vampire monsters. If that scenario sounds fun to you, you are probably creepy and/or a fan of ‘Shiki’. Based upon the popular novel by Fuyumi Ono, the anime adaptation of ‘Shiki’ seeks to scare you through the increasing number of mysterious deaths occurring to this tiny rural village. How scary can ‘Shiki’ be though when it’s characters seem so obtusely designed that it makes it seem like a typical harem series? Listen and find out!

A new spin-off based on Fujio Akatsuka’s classic 1960’s gag manga, ‘Mr. Osomatsu’ causes some sharply divided opinions among the Champions in this week’s episode. Is it funny? Is it just dumb? How many of the jokes work if you aren’t at all familiar with Akatsuka’s original manga? Which of the Champions gets the most enjoyment out of fart jokes? Listen and find out!

Crabs and snails aren’t usually what jumps to mind when you think about troublesome spirits but in ‘Bakemonogatari’ you learn to expect the unexpected. The Champions jump back to 2009 for today’s review of the first five episodes of Shaft’s anime adaptation of Nisio Isin’s massively popular light novel series. The Champions attempt to wrap their tiny brains around all of the head-tilting madness of Bakemonogatari without becoming weightless themselves. Can they succeed? Listen and find out!

The Champions dive into director Rupert Sanders’ live-action remake of that eternal classic of Japanese animation: Ghost in the Shell. Scarlett Johansson jumps into the role of the Major in a reinterpretation of the source material that majorly changes the narrative but is curiously faithful to the visuals of Mamoru Oshii’s original film. Is Johansson enough to win the Champions over? Or does this Hollywood remake leave us wanting our memories wiped? Listen and find out!
You can buy or rent Ghost in the Shell (2017) on Amazon and iTunes.
The Champions tear through angry priests, heart-broken vampires, and a horde of bloodthirsty beasts in their review of the first four episodes of Netflix’s Castlevania. Adapted from the popular Konami video game series and deeply influenced by Kentaro Miura’s Berserk and Yoshiaki Kawajiri’s Vampire Hunter D films, can Netflix’s foray into fantastical horror proudly stand beside it’s inspirations? Are Castlevania’s fangs sharp enough to take a bite out of the heart of the Champions? Listen and find out!

After an extended summer vacation, the Champions are back with a brand-new episode reviewing the popular series ‘Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid’! Gorgeously animated by Kyoto Animation and based on the manga by coolkyoushinja, ‘Dragon Maid’ causes one of the champions to fall deeply in love but what of the other? Can a band of cute girls doing cute things (who also just happen to be dragons) warm the darkest and coldest of hearts? Listen and find out!
