Marvel announced a few months ago that many of their comics in August would feature variant covers drawn by a variety of Japanese artists. At the time, all of the artists were listed as ‘TBA’. Now, the first few covers and their respective artists have been revealed. The third issue of Guardians of Knowhere will feature an awesome Venom cover drawn by Yasuhiro Nightow, who is known for Trigun and the currently running Blood Blockade Battlefront. The variant for Ant Man: Last Days is drawn by Dorohedoro’s Q Hayashida.

Hayashida being included in the line-up is a very exciting surprise for me as I’ve loved reading Dorohedoro for years but it isn’t a title you commonly hear about. Both covers are really cool and I’m very interested in seeing what the other ‘Manga’ variants will be like.

Trigun and Blood Blockade Battlefront are both published in North America by Dark Horse Comics. Dorohedoro is available in the United States through Viz Media.
